Lab Technician Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our team in an indoor grow operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the fertigation rooms, gathering plant metrics, and assisting the lab director with various duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plant science, chemistry, and biology, as well as experience in a laboratory setting.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain fertigation for indoor grow operation Gather plant metrics to monitor optimal growth Mix nutrients for plant watering and fulfill nutrient mix orders Conduct plant tissue culture Assist lab director with lab duties Maintain and improve workplace cleanliness and organization Conduct grow room walk throughs to collect plant metrics, identify growth issues, and troubleshoot equipment failures Utilize scientific literature to prepare and improve SOPs Maintain inventory and organize warehouse stock of raw materials Take daily and weekly readings; data entry of daily and weekly readings Organize and store all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions Handle potentially dangerous substances, pesticides, bleach, and chemical reagents Organize and be responsible for garage salt inventory Maintain supplies and chemical inventory; create purchase orders as needed Operate various types of equipment such as pH meters, balances Independently follow SOPs, verbal and written instructions, and established protocols Work indoors in a state of the art, climate controlled, clean indoor cultivation environment Play a crucial role in all stages of plant cultivation Engage in data collection to continually improve product Maintain quality control measures to keep plants healthy and happy Conduct farm hygiene management to keep plants healthy and happy Troubleshoot equipment issues

Qualifications :

Basic understanding of plant science/horticulture or biology Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping At least 1 year of lab experience Experience in plant tissue culture is a plus Willingness to continue to learn and grow with the company Integrity and respect toward others Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information Ability to work as part of a team to achieve company goals Ability to work weekends/holidays on an occasional basis Ability to work extended days on an occasional basis Ability to work daytime or evening hours Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines Must be 21 years of age or older
