Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lab Technician specializing in STD/STI testing to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will perform laboratory tests to detect and diagnose various sexually transmitted diseases and infections. Your responsibilities will include specimen collection, processing, testing, as well as communicating with resources to ensure timely and accurate results. The Lab Technician will ensure adherence to laboratory protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory standards to deliver timely, reliable and precise test results.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures related to STD/STI testing, including specimen handling, preparation, and analysis.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate and efficient testing processes.
  • Implement quality assurance practices to maintain the integrity and reliability of laboratory procedures.
  • Collaborate with other Team Members to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing procedures as new equipment is integrated.
  • Assist in equipment maintenance, inventory control, and performs all clerical functions including but not limited to data entry, maintaining records, and transporting samples if necessary.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences (preferred) or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably with expertise in STD/STI testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in performing diagnostic tests such as PCR, Immunoassays, and capable of learning new machinery as they are integrated.
  • Excellent pipetting skill is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict laboratory protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment to complete tasks at an appropriate pace
  • Proficiency with a computer and computer systems, including data entry and retrieval, Excel, and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Abbott and PCR machines.
Pay:
  • Starting $25/hr
Schedule:
  • From 8:00 PM to Finish (Friday and Saturdays)
  • You may cover other shifts as needed.
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour
