Contract Position Overview Viltis is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician - Confirmations to support a client's analytical laboratory operations. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing analytical data generated through GC/MS and
LC/MS/MS
testing, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring results are entered into the laboratory information system for final review and certification. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related scientific discipline and at least one year of experience working in an analytical laboratory. Responsibilities Read, understand, and follow written Standard Operating Procedures. Correctly identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of sample sequences for each batch. Process acquired instrument data and generate appropriate analytical reports. Conduct the initial review of GC/MS and
LC/MS/MS
analytical data in accordance with assay-specific procedures. Transcribe or upload test results into the Laboratory Information System for final review and certification. Maintain complete and accurate chain-of-custody and batch documentation. Identify data discrepancies, instrument issues, or other emerging challenges and promptly escalate them to laboratory supervisors. Follow laboratory quality, safety, and documentation requirements. Safely handle biological specimens, chemicals, laboratory equipment, and analytical instruments. Maintain and promote a safe and healthful working environment for all laboratory personnel. Support additional laboratory activities as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related scientific field. At least one year of experience working in an analytical laboratory. Experience following laboratory SOPs and maintaining controlled documentation. Ability to work safely with biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and analytical instruments. Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately review and document analytical data. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Availability to work the designated third-shift schedule. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience reviewing GC/MS or
LC/MS/MS
analytical data. Experience working in a regulated, clinical, toxicology, pharmaceutical, or high-throughput testing laboratory. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems. Experience with chain-of-custody documentation and laboratory quality systems.
