This is a temporary assignment lasting 8-12 months with possibility of relocating with company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze samples using HPLC, review data Create report and communicate results Assistance with maintenance of instruments Development of new methods (focus on patulin in apple products)
Specific Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze samples with HPLC Responsible for meetings calibration and QA requirements Document activities and report results in timely and accurate manner: interpret and process raw chromatogram, organize data for review and reporting Perform all work in specific turnaround times Collaborate with HPLC supplier and parent company lab who already use HPLC Identify and report quality problem to QA department Prepare all analytical standards, reagents and solution (mobile phase, diluent, standard…) Manage inventory of chemicals Develop and validate analysis method as well as write clear SOPs for implementation Perform routine instrument maintenance procedures Troubleshooting and resolving issues with equipment Perform other quality analysis (pH, brix, acidity, color, turbidity…) Other duties as assigned Proficient in good lab practices to keep clean and safe laboratory Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Chemical background, knowledge in organic chemistry Computer skills with ability to learn industry specific software which allows equipment to run Ability to multitask, organized, detail oriented, problem solving capability Able to work independently of supervision High energy level, confidence Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work evening and weekends if needed
Qualification:
Degree in scientific field (chemistry, biology…) 1-2 years of experience is preferred Prior experience on HPLC and method development is preferred Ability to interface successfully at all levels in a multi-cultural environment. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Regular communication with our French parent company
