Job Description

Laboratory Technician This is a seasonal role, projected to be from June 1 through October 1 (potential to extend). Please only apply if you can commit to that timeline. Job Description Join our dynamic Vegetable Quality Lab in the R D department where you will play an integral role in sample preparation and whole vegetable processing. You will be responsible for inputting data into LIMS systems, maintaining the lab, and assisting in collecting quantitative data for fruit and vegetable characteristics. You'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with analytical equipment, pipetting, solvent preparation, and waste management. Responsibilities + Prepare samples and process whole vegetables for analysis. + Input data accurately into LIMS systems. + Maintain general lab cleanliness and manage inventory of chemicals and consumables. + Label samples and equipment as needed. + Assist with analytical equipment operations and solvent preparations. + Manage laboratory waste efficiently. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in food science, agriculture, biology, or chemistry. + 1-2 years of experience in a general lab or food handling environment. + Proficiency in computer programs for data input, such as LIMS systems or Excel. + Strong teamwork and self-motivation skills. + Excellent attitude and work ethic. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Background in plant science, analytical chemistry, or agriculture. + Interest in developing laboratory analytical skills, including HPLC and GC MS. Work Environment You will work in a collaborative team environment with approximately 10 other lab technicians, focusing on sample preparation for various vegetables like watermelon, tomatoes, and onions. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. There is an opportunity for career growth within the organization, as top performers may be promoted or moved to other departments. Please note that large PTO or vacations are not permitted, though occasional necessary appointments can be accommodated. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
