Job Description
Job Description Clinical Lab Analyst (Overnight Shift) This is a great opportunity to join a high-complexity clinical laboratory that plays a critical role in newborn screening programs. In this position, you'll work with advanced laboratory technologies to help identify potentially life-threatening conditions in newborns, directly supporting positive patient outcomes. You'll perform testing on newborn blood spot specimens using a variety of techniques including immunoassay, enzyme assays, electrophoresis, HPLC, tandem mass spectrometry, and molecular methods. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, reviewing and documenting test results, performing quality control procedures, troubleshooting equipment and assay issues, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting of results. The lab operates 24/7, providing excellent hands-on experience with sophisticated instrumentation and high-throughput testing workflows. Analysts rotate through multiple testing areas, offering broad technical exposure and opportunities to expand their skill set through ongoing training and cross-training. Schedule:
Overnight shift: 9:30 PM to 7:30 AM Rotating 5 days on, 4 days off schedule Includes weekends and holidays Initial training is typically completed on a daytime schedule before transitioning to nights This role is ideal for candidates with a Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related scientific background who are looking to build a career in clinical laboratory science and gain experience working in a regulated, high-complexity testing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
