Job Description
Looking for someone with 5+ years of experience. Need someone that can work independently. Growth and advancement opportunities are available. Salary+ competitive shift differential for nights and weekends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assesses patients' clinical status, evaluates progress toward goals, and recommends courses of action. Safely performs various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards, procedural guidelines, and PSS policies. Scores studies according to the AASM manual for the scoring of sleep and associated events. Analyzes critical situations and applies appropriate judgement and critical thinking for problem resolution. Accurately and reliably interprets and communicates patient results. Interacts with and explains therapeutic modalities to patients, families and the interdisciplinary team in an understandable manner based on learning styles and individual diversity. Effectively works in a team-based environment especially during stressful situations involving quickly changing priorities. Consistently follows all department policies and procedures. Demonstrates time management and organizational skills when independently taking care of patient assignments. Seeks appropriate resources, receptive to being taught, coached, and mentored. Keeps current on all department-based forms of communication including staff meetings and email updates. Troubleshoots equipment issues and seeks assistance as necessary. Recognizes, documents, and reports all unusual patient response to treatment or testing. Anticipates and acts to prevent potential patient care problems. Maintains a safe environment. Presents sleep educational offering to the sleep center staff. Will serve as a mentor to new employees or current employees as assigned by the manager/technical director. Participates in education and training of new and stablished employees assigned by the manager/technical director. Will support PSS manager/technical director in their absence as assigned based on PSS needs. Must seek out appropriate resources when unsure of plan of care. Resource for clinical problem solving related to equipment and workflow process. Acquires 10 CEUs a year for a total of 50 in a 5-year period per BRPT standards.QUALIFICATIONS
Five years or greater of experience in sleep technology. 2 years experience in pediatric care required. CurrentBLS/PALS
certification from the American Heart Association.REQUIREMENTS
