In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for supporting high-volume production, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring quality standards are met with precision. Responsibilities Set up and operate laboratory equipment, including optical lens edgers, CNC lathes, and machining tools, ensuring optimal performance for manufacturing tasks Interpret ophthalmic prescriptions and lens parameters accurately to produce high-quality lenses according to specifications Conduct laboratory procedures involving optical lens fabrication, quality assurance checks, and adherence to ISO standards specific to the location Manage laboratory workflow efficiently by prioritizing tasks and maintaining high-volume production standards Perform routine maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting on equipment, demonstrating solid mechanical knowledge and lab management skills Apply laboratory techniques to identify lens parameters, verify measurements, and ensure precise fabrication aligned with customer prescriptions Maintain detailed records of production processes, quality checks, and equipment maintenance in accordance with laboratory procedures Qualifications Proven experience in optical laboratories or ophthalmic manufacturing environments with high-volume production expertise Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, including anatomy and physiology relevant to vision correction products Skilled in optical laboratory techniques such as lens parameter identification, machining, and operating optical edgers or CNC machinery Familiarity with ISO standards related to optical manufacturing processes at the specified location Ability to interpret ophthalmic prescription abbreviations accurately and apply this knowledge during fabrication Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of precision machinery like CNC lathes and optical edgers Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments; proficiency in retail sales or customer service is a plus but not required This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in ophthalmic manufacturing while contributing to a team committed to quality and innovation.
