Position Summary AirJoule is seeking Lab Technicians to join the formulation technology team and support the proprietary coating development. This product is the core component of our AirJoule® technology to produce pure water from the air with much less energy consumption. This assignment will be located at AirJoule's new R&D center in Wilmington, DE. The technician should be familiar with the laboratory working environment, including preparation facilities, characterization equipment, chemicals, lab consumables, safety, and housekeeping aspects. With established procedures and minimal guidance, the person will perform routine as well as complex experiments and activities to support Scientists in the product development process. This role also assists with document management, data analysis, and technical report. Key Responsibilities To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility satisfactorily. Conduct formulating experiments, material characterizations, property tests, and coating applications independently following the established procedures. Collect, summarize, and communicate the resulting data with scientists and other stakeholders. Document and interpret test results using computer programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Assist in design of experiments and data trend analysis. Troubleshoot problems occurring in the lab; work with scientists to address erroneous or unexpected results. Identify and suggest improvements in experimental procedures and lab conditions. Propose suggestions on project plans and manage daily workflow. Maintain current equipment and facilities independently; set up new ones under the guidance of vendors and scientists. Write standard operating procedure (SOP) documents and align with scientists. Keep appropriate inventory of chemicals and consumables to ensure completion of work timely. Handle multiple tasks within required time frames. Handle chemicals, dispose of wastes, and operate equipment safely; clean lab on a routine basis. Uphold a safe, respectful, collaborative, inclusive, and appreciative team environment. Be a stakeholder in lab management, including equipment, chemicals, SOPs, safety, housekeeping, quality, and audit. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related field; Associate's degree in those fields with 3+ years' lab or industrial experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Manage multiple workflows and projects at the same time, and be able to meet established deadlines. Understand basic knowledge of coating formulations, characterizations, and applications. Skilled at interpersonal communications to work well in a team environment. Experience in handling hazardous chemicals and keeping safe standards in the lab. Passions in hands-on work and project execution to commercialize products. Good at writing and improving SOPs, safety rules, cleaning procedures, and technical documents. Skilled at computer programs and data analysis. Possess effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to adapt to change and willingness to be flexible in a global team environment.
