Occasional night-shift work may be required based on project needs Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. This is an entry-level position , and prior laboratory experience is not required. We are looking for candidates with a solid work history, a strong work ethic, and the ability to carefully follow written and verbal instructions. Under direct supervision, the Lab Technician will assist with laboratory and manufacturing activities for assigned projects. Responsibilities may include setting up and cleaning laboratory equipment, operating routine instrumentation, adding chemicals to equipment, following detailed manufacturing procedures, processing products, maintaining accurate records, and properly handling hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable working in an environment where attention to detail and following established procedures are critical. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up, operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment such as vacuum pumps, thermocouples, and related equipment. Follow detailed written and verbal manufacturing and laboratory procedures. Assist with the operation of laboratory equipment and routine instrumentation, including GCs and melting point apparatus. Add chemicals and materials to equipment according to established procedures and instructions. Assist with product work-up and processing activities. Maintain accurate, legible, and up-to-date laboratory records and notebooks. Properly handle, store, and dispose of hazardous chemicals and waste. Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area and facility. Follow all company safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures. Participate actively in the company safety program. Attend required annual training related to hazardous waste handling and disposal. Work safely around chemicals, high-pressure equipment, gases, and laboratory processes. Assist with training probationary technicians as experience and qualifications allow. Perform other laboratory and job-related duties as assigned. Work overtime or an alternate shift, including occasional night-shift work, when required by project needs. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Strong work history and demonstrated reliability. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Ability to learn and follow established laboratory and manufacturing procedures. Strong attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate and legible records. Commitment to workplace safety. Preferred Previous laboratory, manufacturing, chemical, production, or industrial experience is helpful but not required . Familiarity with laboratory equipment or chemical handling is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to follow routine and detailed instructions. Ability to learn experimental procedures, protocols, and preparation techniques. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and environmental standards. Ability to safely handle chemicals and laboratory materials. Ability to learn and perform basic laboratory techniques and processes. Ability to work safely around high-pressure equipment and gases. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to maintain neat, legible, correct, dated, and properly completed records. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ability to work effectively under direct supervision and as part of a team. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Work may involve exposure to chemicals, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noise, and varying temperatures and humidity. Work involves potentially hazardous materials and situations requiring strict adherence to safety procedures. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection and respirators when required, must be worn as directed. Employees must be able to safely lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds . Physical work is an important part of this position. Employees must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Safety & PPE Requirements The company provides all required PPE, including uniforms and safety shoes . Employees in this position are required to complete an annual physical examination with the company's medical provider , at no cost to the employee, to ensure they are medically able to wear a respirator when required. Schedule This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week . The position primarily works Monday through Friday on day shift .
Employees may generally choose between:
4/10 schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week 5/8 schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week Occasional night-shift work may be required based on project or business needs.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
