Contract with possibility to go permanent (depending on business needs and performance) About the Opportunity As the Quality Control Lab Technician, you will be responsible for performing lab preparation activities and analyses to maintain the quality and safety of food products, effectively communicating with co-workers, performing a variety of analytical tests on finished goods, raw materials, and packaging, working in both a team environment and independently as needed, and actively working to encourage a culture of quality and safety amongst co-workers. What You ll Do Receiving and tests incoming raw materials to include flavors, bulk sugar, and packaging Performs analytical and organoleptic tests of finished productsConducts start-up checks of the production line and continues monitoring quality throughout production runTest finished products for quality and able to provide information to adjust batches if necessaryHelp maintain inventory of laboratory supplies. Notify purchasing when supplies are neededKeep laboratory equipment operating by performing daily calibrations. Responsible for laboratory record keeping and documentationPerforms microbiological testing of finished goods and raw materialsConduct ATP testing of environment and food contact equipment.

Understands and follows all applicable GMP s, GLP s, and SSOP sMaintains a clean and safe work environmentCommunicates effectively with all departments to support quality and food safety at all times Responsible for ensuring food safety and notifying production and quality management of food safety risks Other duties as assignedUpholds, inspires, and rewards adoption of company mission and values in the workplace. Other Qualifications & Considerations A.S. or B.S. Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or Related Field1+ years in a laboratory environment (food/beverage, pharmaceutical, consumer products or relevant industry preferred)Good mathematical skills, reading comprehension and proficiency in required computer systems (Excel, Word, Windows, Data Base Systems)Strong communication and writing skillsAbility to multi-taskAttention to detail and the ability to discern variation in color, taste and aromaMaintain a clean and safe work environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and respond positively to changes in daily duties and workloadAbility to stand, reach, walk, and stoop, as well as push, pull, lift and carry up to 10 pounds Occasional lifting of containers up to 50 poundsContinuous standing and walking throughout the shiftClimbing and balancing laddersAbility to work flexible hours and overtime when neededCan work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team
