Job Description
Seeking 1 FT (4 10 Hour Shifts, Rotating Saturdays) Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician and/or Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and research initiatives. Your expertise in laboratory techniques, specimen processing, and data management will contribute significantly to advancing clinical and research outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to improving health through precise laboratory analysis. Duties Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples using aseptic techniques and proper laboratory procedures. Conduct complex assays such as ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (polymerase chain reaction), flow cytometry, immunoassays, and RNA extraction to detect and quantify biomolecules. Isolate DNA and RNA from various specimen types for genetic analysis or research purposes. Manage laboratory data accurately using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and perform detailed data analysis to interpret results effectively. Maintain rigorous quality control standards by calibrating equipment, verifying test accuracy, and documenting procedures meticulously. Adhere to safety protocols Assist with laboratory management tasks including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and compliance with hospital or research laboratory standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field; certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Scientist is preferred. Proven clinical laboratory experience with proficiency in laboratory techniques such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA isolation, and immunoassays. Strong data management skills with experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and data analysis tools. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, blood banking procedures, and specimen collection methods including venipuncture. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols including aseptic technique and handling of biological specimens. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow complex protocols accurately while maintaining high-quality standards. Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals or research teams in a fast-paced environment. Hospital or clinical laboratory experience is highly desirable
