Job Description

Lee Health is seeking a Licensed Medical Laboratory Technician to support patient-centered care across our Southwest Florida health system. In this on-site role, you will perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests, prepare and analyze specimens, and ensure accurate, timely results that guide clinical decisions. You'll operate and maintain lab instruments, follow strict quality and safety standards, and collaborate closely with nurses and providers. Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests accurately and efficiently Prepare, analyze, and interpret specimens following established protocols Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure reliable results Document and report test results clearly within the LIS/EMR systems Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinicians on diagnostic needs Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, OSHA) Assist in training and mentoring new staff or students as needed Manage specimen handling, labeling, and storage to maintain integrity Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives Required Skills Clinical laboratory testing Hematology and chemistry analysis Microbiology and urinalysis basics Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Quality control and quality assurance Specimen collection and processing Instrument calibration and troubleshooting Infection control and biosafety Regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, OSHA) Documentation and data entry accuracy
