Role:
The Lab Gross Assistant plays a crucial role in the health care services industry by ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of laboratory specimens. This position involves preparing and grossing specimens for further analysis, which is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The Lab Gross Assistant will work closely with pathologists and laboratory technicians to maintain high standards of quality and safety in specimen handling. Attention to detail and adherence to protocols are vital, as the results of laboratory tests can significantly impact patient care. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team in delivering timely and precise medical services.
Responsibilities:
Receive and log specimens into the laboratory information system. Biopsy Prepare specimens for gross examination by following established protocols. Assist pathologists in the grossing process, ensuring accurate documentation. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations. Participate in quality control measures and assist in the training of new staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
AA or BA. Experience in a laboratory setting or relevant coursework in biological sciences.
