Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team at our fast-paced urgent care office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and shipping patient specimens. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory protocols, excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, label, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, swabs, etc.) following proper protocols.
• Perform routine laboratory tests such as urinalysis, glucose testing, and basic hematology.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Record and report results to providers promptly and accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with infection control standards in the laboratory.
• Prepare and ship specimens to reference laboratories when necessary.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient information and test results in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Maintain inventory and order laboratory supplies as needed.
• Comply with HIPAA and OSHA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and workplace safety.
• Perform allergy testing and accurately record the results.
