Essential Functions:
Polysomnographic Procedures:
o Follow Sleep Laboratory Operating Procedures and Procedural Protocols to ensure the collection of appropriate data. o Perform data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are kept artifact-free. o Document observations and relative clinical events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of results. o Implement and perform appropriate interventions such as in those necessary for patient safety or PAP titrations. o Remove electrodes and sensors and appropriately clean according to Department Operating Procedures for patient hookup and cleaning. o Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply procedures and policies.Testing Preparation Procedures:
o Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning. o Apply electrodes and sensors according to procedures for patient hookup. o Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signal deflection and recognition. o During titration studies, perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting and desensitization prior to starting.Gather and Analyze Patient Information:
o Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs relating to physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure and pertinent medical/social history, and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering.Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
o Participate in the care and maintenance of all sleep equipment. o Participate in the inventory and ordering of medical supplies. o Participate in the organization and cleanliness of the sleep laboratory. o Demonstrated knowledge, skills and competencies of procedures and protocols. o Oder Supplies for Sleep Labs o Score and perform Sleep Studies, MSLT, MWT, Car Seat & Research studies. o Produce a preliminary sleep results reports for all Sleep Studies, MSLT, MWT and Car Seat Test. o Coordinate Research Studies. o Transfer Research Studies. o Coordinate scheduling of Studies. o Maintaining Sleep Log book. o On call support for Sleep Labs. o Report and coordinate repair of equipment. o Back up all Sleep Studies, MSLT, MWT and Car Seat Test.Job Type:
