Job Description

Lab Assistant 7:30 PM - 1:30 AM Monday -
Thursday Roles & Responsibilities:
File, track, and coordinate internal transport of slides and blocks. Update Equipment Log Books and database. Maintains precise documentation in accordance with laboratory policies. Take supply inventories and stocks supplies. Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining. Perform routine H&E staining and coverslipping either manually or automated. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Responsible for all assigned clerical duties associated with the Histology laboratory. With appropriate education and training, may assist technical staff with limited histology functions. Ensure all company safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area. Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Some college coursework including chemistry, biology and/or medical technology, preferredStrong communication and organization skills. Attention to details is a must. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must possess a strong work ethic and able to work as part of a team. Medical terminology is desired. 1-2 years work experience in a laboratory setting, preferred.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
