Job Description

Medical Laboratory Technician Job Summary:
Primary responsibilities include performance and interpretation of a variety of analytic laboratory tests for patient diagnosis in a high-throughput clinical laboratory setting. Employees must be able to accurately follow detailed standard operating procedures for various tests. Analytic platforms include molecular panels (RT-qPCR, qPCR, NGS, microarray analysis), ELISAs, and Enzymatic quantification assays.
Minimum Education/Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry required. Molecular biology, MB(ASCP) or Chemistry, MT (ASCP) certification preferred or must be obtained after one year of employment. Previous experience in a clinical laboratory is required. Must be computer proficient. Must be willing to work independently and in a Team environment.
Job Duties:
Perform molecular/Proteins laboratory testing to include sample preparation, data analysis, and data entry. Must perform all testing according to standard operating procedures without deviation from established protocols in a high-throughput laboratory setting. Utilize LIMS for sample tracking, testing, and result entry. Operate analytic test instrumentation to ensure accurate generation of medically reliable test results. Troubleshoot instrumentation failure when required. Maintain all reagents, temperature logs, and proper documentation of test samples. HIPPA and OSHA compliance
