USA Description:
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm With guidance from supervisor, assists technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.
Educational Requirements:
BS in Science (Chemistry, Biology, or related fields) is strongly preferred. Those working toward a BS in Science with previous laboratory experience will be considered.
Core Responsibilities:
This position involves working in laboratory, greenhouse, and field settings.
The position responsibilities include:
plant sampling, DNA extraction, high-throughput PCR, and laboratory inventory sample management. The position is 100% site-based, with occasional driving required.
Technical Skills and previous experience:
This position requires familiarity with laboratory techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR. Must be familiar with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel. 1 years+ prior relevant experience working in a research laboratory environment is required.
Safety and Compliance:
Understands and follows Environmental Health and Safety standards. Use of safety procedures & appropriate PPE mandated.
Additional Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with effective documentation and communication of results. Good organization skills with the ability to follow standard operating procedures and adhere to safety protocols. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
