Job Title:
Laboratory TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to operate and maintain both automated and manual laboratory equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality control tests and adherence to safety regulations while meeting customer product deadlines. Responsibilities + Operate automated and manual lab equipment, including liquid handlers. + Perform troubleshooting and maintenance activities on lab equipment. + Conduct manual pipetting as required. + Utilize customer software packages to complete tasks and produce final products. + Apply stoichiometry to convert measurement units and create custom solutions. + Quantify and sample DNA fragments for quality control tests. + Assess quality control data and maintain daily shipping deadlines for customer products. + Adhere to safety regulations and lab standard operating procedures (SOPs). Essential Skills + Experience with operating automated and manual laboratory equipment. + Proficiency in using customer software packages for laboratory tasks. + Strong understanding of stoichiometry for measurement conversion and solution creation. + Ability to quantify and sample DNA fragments effectively. + Capability to assess quality control data accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in biology or other life sciences is preferred. + Experience in Chemistry, Microbiology, Laboratory, Quality Assurance, HPLC, PCR, Biology, and Biochemistry. Work Environment The work schedule is Friday to Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. This position includes a base pay with an additional shift differential. The laboratory environment requires adherence to safety regulations, and standard operating procedures, and involves the use of various lab technologies and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coralville, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.35 - $25.03/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
