The Covestro location in Frankfort, Indiana produces large scale waterborne acrylic emulsions for the use in coatings and adhesives. As a QC Lab Intern within Covestro, you will be responsible for a wide range of lab activities to support day-to-day and ongoing projects. Candidates must be available for a 3-month assignment during the Summer of 2027 (May to August).
Responsibilities:
- Polymer emulsion QC testing including but not limited to GC, viscometer, pH, solids, and particle size
- Calibration and verification of lab equipment
- Data and record keeping
- Abide by laboratory safety procedures and protocols
Interns will work under general supervision but with a high degree of independence once trained Related to this position, Covestro offers: A global working environment with the opportunity to assist in developing process improvements and creatively solving process-related problems for Covestro's chemical plants in the U.S

WHAT YOU OFFER
Basic Qualifications Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at the time of the internship, which is May 2027 to August 2027
Focus on one of the following majors: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology
Completion of Freshman year Preferred Qualifications Overall GPA of 3.0
Completion of sophomore year preferred
Chemistry or Biochemistry majors
Previous lab experience is a plus Skills and Experience Experience with and knowledge about basic chemistry and safe work habits in a laboratory environment
Demonstrated PC skills and ability to work within Microsoft Office programs
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as strong written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
