COMPUTER LAB AIDE QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent & experience with computer software, hardware, and training of users.REPORTS TO
Building PrincipalJOB GOAL
To coordinate, organize, and supervise the Computer Lab to run as an efficient learning environment.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Liaison between the classroom teacher and the Computer lab to integrate curriculum. Assists in planning objectives. Meet with faculty to develop curriculum. Plan cooperatively with teachers for lab activities. Instruct students in the use of computer technology in the lab. Supervise students in the lab. Assist students in their program assignment. Provide instruction on how to use software. Assist faculty and administrators in the use of computer technology in the lab. Provide in-service to faculty on hardware and educational software usage. Independently/cooperatively directs student activities in the lab. Maintain appropriate classroom behavior by coordinating discipline with teacher. Process and print student progress data. In situations where teachers do not come with their students to the lab, the Computer Lab Coordinator will: Inform teachers of instructional activities within lab. Inform teachers of student progress within lab. Coordinates scheduling of Computer Lab for classes. Updates and maintains local area network software. Power up/power down the computer system each day. Correct system errors, malfunctions (server, computers, printers), or refer the problem to the district or IBM support people. Assign IBM user I.D.'s/passwords. Create classes (computer directories) and place users into specific classes. Remove student files from server fixed disk. Transfer programs from the system to class menus.] Performs operator level maintenance on the computer hardware. Clean computer workstations including keyboard, monitor, computer, and tables. Refer hardware problems to the district or IBM support people. Procurement and control of laboratory equipment. Make recommendations regarding purchase of computer hardware and Make recommendations regarding purchase of laboratory/furniture and Design and implementation of inventory control for all Computer lab equipment. Hardware, and software. Maintain accurate records on service to all equipment. Creates and maintains a safe, orderly, inviting atmosphere within the lab. Design and create bulletin boards. Create and post lab rules. Keep room's physical appearance in order .TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year to be established by the Board. $9.00/hrEVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
