Full Job Description Job Description :
Holographic Lab Technician Position Type:
Full-Time Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Holographic Lab Technician to join our specialized production team. This role is a unique blend of chemistry, precision mechanics, and light science. You will be responsible for the "wet-lab" phase of production—converting fragile holographic masters into durable metal plates (shims) used for high-speed printing. No prior holography experience is required; we provide full technical training for candidates with the right "precision mindset." Primary Responsibilities •
Master Preparation:
Perform surgical-grade cleaning and degreasing of glass holographic masters to ensure perfect chemical adhesion. • Silvering (Thin-Film Deposition): Execute the chemical silvering process to apply a microscopic, conductive silver layer to non-conductive masters. •
Electroforming Support:
Monitor and maintain nickel sulfamate plating tanks. This includes tracking bath temperatures, pH levels, and filtration flow. •
Shim Harvesting:
Carefully "part" (separate) grown nickel shims from glass masters and perform precision trimming and finishing for the production press. •
Lab Maintenance:
Maintain a "Clean Room" environment. Manage nickel anodes, clean equipment, and ensure all chemical safety protocols are strictly followed. Minimum Qualifications •
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. •
Background:
Prior experience in controlled manufacturing, laboratory, or technical environment. •
Highly Desired:
Experience or familiarity with Step and Repeat (S&R) processes (mechanical or digital) is a significant plus. •
Aptitude:
Strong basic math skills (for calculating plating times) and a high level of mechanical/manual dexterity. Physical Demands •
Visual Acuity:
Ability to perform close-up inspections of microscopic patterns and identify minute surface defects under specialized lighting. •
Dexterity:
Must have excellent fine motor skills for handling fragile glass and using precision hand tools for trimming metal.
Physical Activity:
Ability to stand for extended periods, reach over tanks, and occasionally lift/move materials or nickel anodes weighing up to 40 lbs.
Benefits:
401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance On-the-job training Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance
Work Location:
