Job Description

At CommonHealth Recovery, our work changes lives. We build effective, lasting substance abuse and mental health treatment programs, and our laboratory is a critical part of how we keep patients safe and on track. We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join a close-knit team that takes pride in doing things right. About the Role Our on-site Frankfort laboratory supports our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Primary Care programs. You will collect, prepare, and process specimens, including urine toxicology samples, swabs, and cultures. You will run presumptive drug screening on our immunoassay analyzer and prepare specimens for confirmation testing at our reference laboratory. This is precise, process-driven work where accuracy and dependability matter. The ideal candidate follows protocols exactly, keeps excellent records, shows up reliably and on time, and communicates clearly with the clinical team. Job-specific training is provided. What You Will Do Receive, verify, label, and accession specimens, confirming patient identity and specimen integrity. Perform presumptive drug screening on the laboratory's immunoassay analyzer per established protocols. Run and document daily quality control, calibration, and routine maintenance, and escalate instrument issues promptly. Prepare, package, and log specimens sent to the reference laboratory, and track pending results. Record results accurately in AdvancedMD and flag any discrepancies or invalid results. Maintain laboratory logs, including quality control, maintenance, temperature, and reagent lot records. Monitor inventory, order supplies, and keep the lab clean, organized, and stocked. Disinfect work surfaces at the end of each shift and follow all biohazard and safety procedures. Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
