Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment, makes observations, and calculates and records results; receives, types, tests, and records blood bank inventories.

< Back Lab MT MLT Apply Now Greensburg, LA 70441, USA Job Type Full-time Workspace Hospital About the Role Responsible for general day to day operation of the laboratory which includes, but not limited to; test performance, verification, corrective action monitoring, employee training, proficiency test analysis, quality control and quality assurance monitoring, resolving, technical problems, instrument performance, and ordering supplies. Requirements
  • Associate degree or Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from as approved Medical Laboratory training program and Certificate from Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners as a CLS.
  • Experience helpful but not required.
  • Knowledge of all areas of laboratory departments, able to analyze QC and QA data and the ability to correct problems. Must possess good communication skills should have the ability to write policies and procedures as needed.
  • A medical Technologist or a Medical Laboratory Technician should be able to meet or exceed all standards based on job description requirements set forth by the quality assurance program, handle confidential patient information daily, have the responsibility to safeguard confidential patient data and must be thoroughly trained in release of information and confidentiality procedures.
  • One (1) year of hospital laboratory experience preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid license with the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
  • Must have at least 12 hours of continuing education per year or 1.
