Job Description
Position Overview Key Responsibilities Perform sample preparation in a fast-paced production environment Support chemists with laboratory operations and testing needs Pull and process samples across multiple methods (may rotate teams frequently or periodically) Core Duties Follow all relevant Quality System documents , including Quality Manual, SOPs, and analytical methods Adhere to
ISO/IEC 17025
, cGMP, GLP, and company quality standards Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Ensure a clean and safe laboratory environment Demonstrate proficiency in: At least one core method At least one additional method with ≤25% supervision Operate required basic lab equipment within the department Prepare sample batches, including weighing and setup Conduct accurate and timely sample analysis to meet client deadlines Data Management & Documentation Maintain accurate and organized records of all work performed Record and enter data into: Logbooks or record books BookMaster eLIMS (manual or automated entry) Identify samples requiring rechecks or further analysis Maintain clean glassware and prepare required solutions Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Identify analytical or method-related issues and propose solutions Report challenges to supervisors or department leaders Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, or procedures Stay current with industry trends and technical advancements Required Skills Experience in a production environment Strong decision-making skills Familiarity with LIMS General laboratory and chemistry knowledge Experience with sample preparation Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a life science field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, etc.) Additional research or laboratory experience (academic or professional) Ability to follow SOPs consistently and accurately Hands-on experience with: Analytical chemistry LC / GC instrumentation Pipetting Titrations Microbiology Additional Competencies Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills Excellent communication skills Independent, action-oriented problem solver Positive attitude and respect for colleagues Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofNEW ORLEANS, LA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
