A Clinical Laboratory Technician, in a clinical laboratory setting, helps with the performance of laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratories, which provide information for medical patient diagnosis and treatment. Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment, makes observations, and calculates and records results; receives, types, tests, and records blood bank inventories.
1+ Years Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join a fast-paced R D team. In this role, you will support new product development (NPD) and current product support (CPS) activities related to Point-of-Care (POC) Assay Development. Your work will directly impact lab testing for product development, verification and validation studies for regulatory submittals, customer complaint and field issue investigations, and post-market surveillance proficiency testing.
Key Responsibilities R D & Data Analysis:
Work closely with R D sensor and reagent scientists using diverse laboratory methods and equipment to generate and analyze data supporting the design, development, and transfer of new sensors to manufacturing.
Hands-on Laboratory Operations:
Perform lab-based work including preparing aqueous solutions and blood preparations, assembling consumable parts, and executing R D troubleshooting and CLSI Verification protocols on clinical chemistry analyzers and prototype instruments.
Testing & Validation:
Participate in test method development and validation by executing multiple test protocols simultaneously.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve semi-complex problems, investigate unexpected or unusual results, and effectively communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
Lab Support Functions:
Assist with chemical and laboratory inventory, data extraction, receiving materials, and authoring or revising local procedures and work instructions.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continual laboratory improvements and collaborate regularly with Research and Development, Technical Operations, and Quality Assurance personnel.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific majors (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Technology) or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of industrial experience, preferably within a laboratory environment.
Technical Skills:
Experience working with plasma, serum, and whole blood. Strong wet chemistry laboratory skills and mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with a basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis.

Adherence to GLP, GDP, and safety standards. Willingness to work in a biohazardous environment.

Preferred Qualifications Previous R D industry experience (3+ years) working in the medical diagnostics field. Working understanding of CLSI guidance and data analysis formats.
