A Laboratory Specimen Processor catalogs specimens in a medical laboratory for use by other health care workers, including laboratory technicians, nurses, and physicians. Specimens can include blood samples, bacteria cultures, and even organs. Receives specimens, enters specimen data into a computer system, prepares samples for further laboratory analysis, and transports specimens to other labs and clinical departments.

Job Description
- Unpack, sort, and inspect incoming specimen deliveries with strict adherence to chain-of-custody and safety protocols.
- Review test requisition forms to identify and verify all necessary patient and physician information.
- Match specimen vial identifiers accurately with requisition documentation to eliminate discrepancies.
- Resolve missing, incomplete, or discrepant sample information by contacting client offices or following standard operating procedures.
- Enter specimen data efficiently and accurately into the laboratory information system (LIS). Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory, medical office, or specimen accessioning environment.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-complexity laboratory setting. Schedule & Shifts
- Weekdays, weekends, and evening shifts as required.
- Shift options include 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or flexible part-time hours (16-40 hours per week). Benefits
