Job Description
The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company's products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.
This is a Student Co-op position located in Saginaw, MI. This position supports Validation Lab activities including: Work with lab team to understand the processes of the lab including the quality system, and testing
Support Validation Lab build/teardown request including creating and building harnesses, small component soldering and tearing down post test validation parts.
Work with the lab team to improve processes in place for the lab
Assist in maintaining computer hardware, software and test equipment
Work with lab team to support/assist in testing when needed
Learn the processes of Nexteer Automotive within and outside of the Validation labs Requirements Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor's in electrical or mechanical engineering
Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters Up to 40 in the summer Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
Candidates must have working knowledge with hand tools as well as power tools. (Mechanically inclined)
Candidate must have growing knowledge and application of Electrical Engineering principles
Candidate must have strong mathematical and analytic ability
Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, SQL)
Candidate must have excellent Communication, Documentation Skills and attention to detail
