Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment, makes observations, and calculates and records results; receives, types, tests, and records blood bank inventories.

Job Description

Southdale Pediatric Associates is an independent group of board-certified pediatricians and allergists, caring for children since 1948. Our care team provides patient and family centered care that is focused on shared decision making and takes into account each patient's unique health status, value system, and cultural background. We offer a stable, friendly, and challenging work environment. We seek full-time Medical Laboratory Technicians/Scientists for our clinic in Burnsville (with flexibility to work at multiple locations).
Flexible full-time hours include:
day shift (8am-5pm), evening clinic until 8:30pm, and Saturday morning (8am-12pm) rotation.
Medical Lab Technician/Scientist Responsibilities:
in-house test performance including but not limited to: urinalysis, hematology, microbiology, PCR, and kit tests phlebotomy on all ages of patients including heel-sticks on newborns and finger-sticks on children collecting NP, throat, and nasal swabs specimen preparation for reference lab send-out test result reporting to appropriate physicians run and chart quality control for all procedures perform routine maintenance on instruments
Medical Lab Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Biology or Laboratory Science or equivalent ASCP certification: either currently certified or able to sit for exam and attain within 6 months of hire the MLT/S must work effectively in a fast-paced environment to promote our high standard of customer satisfaction MLT/S candidates must work well with children electronic medical record experience is preferred

$26.62 - $35.48 per hour
