Lab Technician

Laboratory Technician Lyolab Diagnostics | Columbia, Missouri | Full-Time, On-Site (Flexible Scheduling Available) About the Role Lyolab Diagnostics is a specialized biotech CDMO building cutting-edge lyophilized therapeutics, and we're hiring a sharp, hands-on Laboratory Technician to run our cycles and own our cleanroom work. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on freeze-drying execution and sterile processing. Key Responsibilities Perform aseptic filling, loading, and unloading inside laboratory cleanrooms. Execute lyophilization cycles per established SOPs Calibrate and maintain supporting lab instruments (pipettes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers) and prep reagents, buffers, and media to spec. Document batch activities — batch records, deviation reports, environmental monitoring logs, LIMS entries. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline — or equivalent hands-on experience. Working knowledge of aseptic technique, including gowning, material transfer, and sterile manipulations in laboratory environments. Experience interpreting and executing batch records, SOPs, and validation protocols. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort learning LIMS or similar lab data systems. Strong attention to detail and a serious commitment to data integrity. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended cleanroom shifts. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of biotechnology lab experience. Master's degree in a related scientific discipline is a plus Prior work in lyophilized products, fill-finish, or sterile injectable manufacturing. Hands-on with lyophilizer control systems from SP Scientific, IMA, or Millrock. Experience with process analytical technology — manometric temperature measurement, residual moisture analysis. Understanding of stability testing, container closure integrity, and reconstitution behavior of lyophilized products.

Based on current market data for lyophilization roles in the Columbia, MO area: Bachelor's level / Entry to mid-level: $50,000 - $70,000/year Final compensation reflects education, years of relevant experience, and instrument proficiency.
