Work under the supervision of the Director and department lead, to enter and admit patients into the hospital and laboratory computers and order appropriate tests. Respond to questions and requests from lab customers; answer telephones and direct calls as needed. Retrieve specimen, maintain files, specimen blocks and slides as needed. Logs all specimens into the computer prior to testing. Performs waived testing and phlebotomy. Collect or monitor the collection of specimens for certain special testing, and maintain files relevant to referral service testing and hospital laboratory. Skills and Abilities Essential Technical/Motor Skills- Ability to speak clearly. Ability to type on computer keyboard.
- Ability to read, write, count, and reason required.
