A Laboratory Technician performs routine tests on samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes. Works under the supervision of a medical laboratory technologist in a laboratory or healthcare facility.
Overview We are seeking a temporary employee to support our Quality Control Laboratory and Sample Department. This role will primarily work either an 8-hour day shift (8:00 AM•4:00 PM) or a 12-hour day shift (7:00 AM•7:00 PM), depending on workload. Responsibilities include routine laboratory testing, sample preparation, shipping and receiving activities, documentation, and general laboratory support functions. The ideal candidate will have prior laboratory and/or quality control experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Availability to provide 12-hour night shift coverage, when needed and after successful training, is preferred.
Schedule Primarily Day Shift:
8:00 AM•4:00 PM or 7:00 AM•7:00 PM Flexible schedule preferred May be asked to cover 12-hour day or night shifts after training, as business needs require Duties Assist with routine quality control testing and inspections Collect, label, prepare, organize, and ship samples Support shipping and receiving activities for samples and materials Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation Assist with calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment Follow established testing procedures and work instructions Report out-of-specification or non-conforming results to supervision Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, or sample management is highly desirable Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or related experience required Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications Ability to follow written procedures and accurately complete documentation Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree but not required Experience working in a Quality Control laboratory Experience with sample preparation, shipping, and logistics activities Experience in a manufacturing or chemical production environment OSHA or workplace safety training Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and move throughout the facility Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, and other protective equipment as required Work Environment Manufacturing and laboratory environment Exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and chemicals Safety training and required PPE provided
Pay Range:
$20•$21/hr USD, dependent upon experience
