Lab Technician

Job Title:

Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician is responsible for maintaining the laboratory, including managing raw material inventory, filling product samples, and organizing laboratory files. The role involves formulating assistance, where the technician will calculate ingredient amounts for batch requirements, prepare and pre-weight raw materials, and process these ingredients according to formula specifications. The technician will also perform aesthetic and product specification assessments and use lab scale equipment to ensure quality and accuracy. Responsibilities Maintain raw material inventory and fill product samples. Organize laboratory files and update supervisor on status and issues. Assist in formulation by calculating ingredient amounts for batches. Prepare and pre-weight raw materials and pre-mixes for batch preparation. Combine and process weighted ingredients while observing the manufacturing process. Record all notable characteristics of batches. Perform aesthetic and product specification assessments. Use lab scale equipment and follow SOPs for batching, testing, and quality purposes. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Sciences. 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting (academic experience is acceptable). Proficiency with pH meters, stability testing, pipetting, viscometer, and scales. Experience following laboratory safety protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in Chemistry or related sciences. Work Environment This position is based in a laboratory environment, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The role primarily focuses on skin care product development and involves using various lab equipment. The work involves following strict safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cranbury, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
