Company Description Hyperbaric Medical Solutions (HMS) is a free-standing provider of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) with offices in Manhattan, NY, Woodbury, NY, Miami, FL, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Randolph, MA. HBOT is an established medical modality going through a renaissance, and our innovative medical practice provides this all-natural treatment with applications for a wide range of medical conditions. Traditionally, this includes non-healing wounds, soft tissue radiation damage, failed flaps and skin grafts, and others, but as a free-standing medical clinic, HMS takes the opportunity to expand the application of HBOT to help many more. This is an emerging area of medicine that is delivering meaningful results to patients every day. Currently, HMS is seeking well qualified candidates for a Full-Time position as a Hyperbaric Technologist (Part-Time positions may be considered as well). Below is a description of the position and the required qualifications for consideration. Job Description Hyperbaric technologists (HBO Tech) have direct interaction with patients and oversee their care process every day. As a result, our HBO Techs are invaluable to creating and maintain a safe and extraordinary experience at Hyperbaric Medical Solutions. HBOT care is daily, so patients develop strong bonds with our staff, especially the HBO Techs - a relationship that is developed through trust and confidence in the expertise of each technologist. HMS is seeking Paramedics, EMTs, experienced Hyperbaric Technologists, and Certified Hyperbaric Technologists (CHT). Experience preferred, but will train non-experienced candidates who demonstrate thoughtful attention to detail, and who take ownership of process and practice operations. Candidate must be willing to work in a collaborative, team environment. This position will work closely with clinical and administrative staff at both this office, as well as with team members of other HMS locations.
Candidate Responsibilities and Expectations:
Prepare for each HBOT session to ensure that each patient has safe and comfortable treatment experience Reinforce patient education for hyperbaric therapy Maintain complete and accurate patient treatment documentation Perform hyperbaric chamber operations and system maintenance as required, and is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems Provide therapy and equipment orientations during new patient consultations Maintain a clean and presentable work environment Assist patients with whatever they need, providing high-quality service and ensuring they exceed the patient's expectations
Qualifications:
Must be New York State certified and/or licensed or hold a diploma from an accredited institution, and have a minimum of six (6) months experience in one of the following vocations: Paramedic EMT-I or EMT-B Must hold current BLS certification Current CHT certification preferred - will train the right candidate English/Spanish speaking and/or English/Mandarin speaking a plus Demonstrated ability to work independently within a collaborative care environment Must show critical thinking, technical, and interpersonal skills, plus be able to interact with patients and their families in a manner that instills confidence and facilitates communication Flexibility to with work at different locations in the area and have reliable transportation Available for occasional work outside of regularly scheduled hours, if needed (i.e., nights and weekends). Physically able to lift 25 lbs. Strong computer skills are necessary
