Job Description

Lab Support Technician / Full Time / Nights The Laboratory Support Technician ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant collection, processing, and management of laboratory specimens while delivering excellent customer service, supporting laboratory operations, and contributing to high-quality patient care through adherence to established standards and continuous quality improvement. The Laboratory Support Technician is an onsite position. Essential Functions Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and customers, answering inquiries, and serving as a knowledgeable laboratory resource. Collect patient specimens competently and efficiently across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings while minimizing patient discomfort. Verify specimen and test requirements by ensuring proper collection, adequacy of samples, and instructing patients on self-collection when needed. Resolve specimen and order-related issues by assessing requirements, troubleshooting discrepancies, documenting problems, and coordinating recollection when necessary. Process and manage specimens and laboratory information by preparing samples for testing or transport, utilizing information systems accurately, and participating in quality improvement activities Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety. Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Training in a formal phlebotomy program which includes didactic training and clinical experience
