Specimens can include blood samples, bacteria cultures, and even organs. Receives specimens, enters specimen data into a computer system, prepares samples for further laboratory analysis, and transports specimens to other labs and clinical departments.

Prepares specimens for testing:
verifies correct sample type, volume, handling and storage conditions. Properly centrifuges, aliqouts and labels specimens and delivers to appropriate laboratory department in a timely manner. Professionally communicates with phlebotomists, Lab Technicians, hospital staff and patients by phone and in person as needed. Performs Automation line maintenance. The central processor is a departmental ambassador and is responsible for providing excellent customer service.
