Scope of Position The East Clinical Laboratory encompasses specimen processing and testing services within the Department of Clinical Laboratories including client services and all areas within the Rapid Response Laboratory. The laboratory is staffed 24 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday. Position Summary The medical laboratory technician-processor (MLT-Processor) is responsible for covering the duties and responsibilities of the Central Processing area and/or Microb9iology processing area within the department of Clinical Laboratories. The MLT-Processor performs specimen processing, manual computer test order entry, verification of laboratory test requisition entry, and customer service related duties. The MLT-Processor also participates in quality control, continuous quality improvement activities, inventory control, professional development and continuing education within the area.
Minimum Qualifications For Hire:
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required.

Meets mandatory hospital education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence annually in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions .
