As Needed Posted 07/16/2026 Req # 7761 Job Summary This position aids in providing efficient, effective, and economical quality laboratory services. Accurately receives all samples into the Laboratory's Information System (LIS); centrifuge all specimens; separate and load specimens into instrument racks delivering racks to each department for testing; assists technical staff with loading specimens onto analyzers, aliquots and packages specimens for transfer to reference lab(s); prepares micro set-ups; perform waived rapid tests; performs moderately complex testing; couriers specimens between on-campus practices and surgical areas to the laboratory; prepares gram stains, stocks media, performs inventory, assists other staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Associate's or bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science;- or•High school diploma or equivalent•and•One year medical laboratory experience with moderate complexity testing•or•One-year medical laboratory experience and successful completion of In-House Laboratory training for testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens within 90 days of employment Preferred Job Requirements Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, providers and other hospital personnel on a one-to-one basis using appropriate grammar, vocabulary and word usage.
