If you're ready to grow your career in a supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Youngstown, OH. Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and other construction materials in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, ODOT, and PennDOT procedures. Receive, identify, log, and properly store incoming field samples. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including drying, splitting, sieving, compacting, molding, and curing as required. Perform routine laboratory testing including, but not limited to: moisture content, sieve analysis, atterberg limits, proctor compaction, specific gravity, aggregate quality testing, concrete compressive strength testing, and asphalt content determination via extraction Record, calculate, and verify test results accurately and completely. Maintain laboratory equipment through routine cleaning, calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance. Ensure laboratory work areas remain organized, clean, and compliant with company safety policies. Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies and notify management when materials require replenishment. Assist with internal quality assurance activities, proficiency sample testing, and laboratory audits. Communicate testing results and unusual findings to laboratory management in a timely manner. Maintain accurate laboratory records in accordance with company quality management procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Working toward a degree in civil engineering, geology, construction, or related field (preferred but not required). Ability to obtain required certifications through the company. Basic mathematical and computer skills. Ability to lift to 50 pounds and safely handle testing equipment and material samples. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
