Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician will support a silicones manufacturing division by performing laboratory testing, quality control activities, and routine analysis related to specialty chemicals. This role contributes directly to safe, reliable, and efficient production by ensuring that materials and products meet defined specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses on silicones and related specialty chemical products following established procedures and protocols. Support the silicones manufacturing division by providing timely and accurate quality control data to production and engineering teams. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments in a safe and efficient manner. Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions required for testing and analysis. Document test results clearly and accurately, maintaining complete and organized laboratory records. Follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines to ensure consistency and reliability of test results. Assist in troubleshooting product or process issues by conducting investigative testing as directed. Handle chemicals and laboratory materials safely, adhering to all safety policies and best practices. Collaborate with colleagues in the lab and manufacturing areas to support continuous improvement and process optimization. Contribute to a positive team culture by communicating effectively and supporting shared goals for quality and growth. Essential Skills Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in a chemical or specialty chemicals setting. Knowledge of specialty chemicals and their basic properties and handling requirements. Hands-on experience with common laboratory equipment and tools used for chemical testing and quality control. Understanding of quality control principles and the role of laboratory testing in manufacturing. Ability to follow detailed laboratory procedures and standard operating instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise, reliable test results. AS or BS in Chemistry or a similar scientific discipline preferred. Ability to document and communicate test results clearly and professionally. Additional Skills & Qualifications Chemical manufacturing experience is a plus. Specialty chemicals knowledge beyond basic lab exposure is a plus. Background in quality control or analytical testing in an industrial setting is beneficial. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative laboratory team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tests and tasks in parallel. Work Environment This position operates in a clean laboratory environment that supports a silicones manufacturing division. The role follows a Monday through Friday, first-shift schedule, providing stable and predictable working hours. You will work with standard laboratory instruments, chemical testing equipment, and quality control tools in a setting that emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and accuracy. The organization is investing in building and growing this division and is focused on developing its own positive, collaborative culture while maintaining a stable and supportive team environment. Dress code aligns with typical laboratory and manufacturing safety requirements, including appropriate lab attire and personal protective equipment as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
