Job Description

HACCP Assurance Services, Inc. is an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory providing a wide range of microbiological analyses to the Agricultural and Food Services industries. Our main laboratory and business headquarters are conveniently located in central Pennsylvania. This strategic location allows us to efficiently serve the needs of food suppliers and manufacturers in the tri-state area with immediate attention and little turnaround. Job Description Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. Position includes various shifts including nights and weekends.
Employee Responsibilities:
Performs test activities in accordance with associated quality procedures and test methods. Applies aseptic/microbiological techniques in daily workload. Prepares/analyzes samples for indicator organisms, and pathogens according to acceptable methods. Accurately performs and reads test results. Prepares media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing. Provides routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, trash disposal, and equipment quality control. Performs daily quality control testing, including working with quality control strains. Assists in quality control duties by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc., as well as other laboratory quality control procedures including quality control documentation. Maintains safe, efficient, and compliant lab operations, including equipment maintenance. Utilizes LIMS software. Handles equipment calibrations and performs equipment verifications. Assists in the manufacturing process for Applied Food Diagnostics, Inc. Assists with administrative laboratory tasks as needed and requested. Additional responsibilities as directed under supervision. Shift Tuesday-Saturday 5:30AM-2:00
PM Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in related science programs preferred Availability nights and weekends Detail-oriented and well-organized Excellent communication (oral and written) Ability to handle multiple projects Achieve accurate, timely and consistent results to ensure samples are processed correctly Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Applications Compensation QSEHRA Health Reimbursement Option Employer Assistance Student Loan Repayment Program Retirement Package PTO (ie. vacation and sick days)
