Job Description

National Healthcare is currently hiring dependable and detail-oriented Medical Technicians to support healthcare providers by performing diagnostic tests, collecting patient specimens, operating laboratory and medical equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care while following all safety and regulatory standards. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $24.00 per hour .

Key Responsibilities:
Collect blood, urine, and other patient specimens for testing. Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures. Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory and medical equipment. Accurately record and report test results to physicians and healthcare staff. Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare samples for analysis and ensure proper specimen handling. Monitor inventory levels and order laboratory supplies as needed. Assist physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during patient procedures. Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related healthcare field preferred. Certification as a Medical Technician (preferred or required based on state regulations). Previous clinical or laboratory experience is preferred. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team. Basic computer and electronic medical records (EMR) experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Lift up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling laboratory equipment and specimens. Ability to work in environments with exposure to biological materials while following proper safety procedures.
