Job Description

The Computer Integrated Machining (CIM) Lab Assistant will be responsible for organizing tools, materials, supplies etc. as required. The Lab Assistant will be tasked with maintenance and repair and lab upgrades that align with the student's skillset, interest, and lab needs. The CIM Lab Assistant will work directly with the CIM faculty.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Supervisor to facilitate the safe handling of materials and operation of equipment
  • Responsible for documenting lab time and coordinating schedule with Supervisor
  • Adhere to all college and lab safety procedures
  • Perform lab tasks as required throughout the course of the year
  • Examples include maintenance of machinery, organization of supplies and upgrading lab procedures

Education and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
  • Must have successfully completed one year of CIM education.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Conditions may require walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting (less than or equal to 50 pounds), high climbing, bending, working in awkward positions handling equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
