Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform essential testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. The role requires multitasking and maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety in a laboratory setting. The successful candidate will contribute to the quality control processes by recording, analyzing, and reporting data using statistical tools and software, and communicating results effectively. Responsibilities Conduct testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Record, analyze, and report data using statistical tools and software, such as SPC charts and Minitab. Communicate results clearly and efficiently to the plant. Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments. Maintain accurate records to comply with quality and Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) standards. Participate in root cause investigations and provide feedback to operations. Manage inventory of reagents and consumables; request materials as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment. Support special projects and non-routine testing as required. Adhere to all plant and lab safety rules and procedures. Essential Skills Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related sciences. Knowledge of lab safety, chemistry, and statistics. Basic understanding of testing methods and quality control. Experience in the manufacturing industry. Proficiency in analytical chemistry. Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to follow detailed procedures and test methods accurately. Capability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to safety and quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Experience with statistical software such as Minitab. Exposure to Six Sigma practices and principles. Work Environment The role is based in a large plant that houses a full lab and chemical plant specializing in manufacturing specialty rubber chemicals and tire additives aimed at enhancing tire durability, strength, and sustainability. The Lab Technician will work in a small to medium-sized lab setting. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monongahela, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
