Apply Now Job Description A client in the Pittsburg area is seeking a Materials Testing Laboratory Technician for a leading engineering consulting and construction materials testing client. This individual will operate largely independently within a mobile laboratory supporting a major data center project in the Western Pennsylvania market. The technician will perform soil, aggregate, and concrete testing, including Proctor testing, Plasticity Index testing, Sieve Analysis, and concrete compressive strength testing, while following established ASTM procedures. Responsibilities include processing field-delivered samples, accurately recording results, and entering testing data into company systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-term project expected to continue through 2029, offering strong growth potential as project demands continue to ramp up. The ideal candidate is a dependable self-starter with prior materials testing laboratory experience who can quickly step into a critical role with minimal training.

Day-to-Day:
Operate a mobile materials testing laboratory near the project site Perform soil testing including Proctor testing, Plasticity Index testing, and Sieve Analysis Conduct aggregate and concrete testing procedures Perform concrete compressive strength testing Receive and process samples delivered from the field Follow ASTM testing procedures and standards Record and document testing results in company systems Manage daily testing schedules and prioritize time-sensitive tests Work independently while coordinating with project teams as needed Maintain laboratory organization and testing equipment We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
