A Sleep Laboratory Technician, also known as a polysomnographic technician, performs tests and collects data on patients with sleep disorders. Responsible for giving patients explanations of the impending sleep tests and procedures, preparing equipment for the procedures, recording activities and analyzing results - all while working under the advisement of a clinical director and/or sleep technologist.

Job Description
Purpose:
Under the supervision of physicians and in the presence of a Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT, or RRT-SDS, or RST), the Sleep Technician Trainee is responsible for performing patient care duties and providing customer service to clients of the sleep center, while completing the ASTEP program and on-the-job training.Responsibilities:
+ Must enroll and complete the ASTEP program within 1 year of hire. + While under direction of senior sleep lab staff according to department policy and procedure:- Prepare patients for sleep testing
- Educate patients on sleep lab testing procedure
- Analyze and score sleep studies
- Perform therapeutic treatments and interventions
- Inventory and restock lab supplies
- Clean equipment and patient rooms
- Performs other duties as assigned + Complete monthly ISR as a training scorer.
Performs duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors. HS diploma (required) and 6 months relevant experience in an allied-health field (preferred).
