Contract The Associate Analytical Technician supports manufacturing operations by performing routine laboratory analyses that provide critical data for site operations and decision-making. This role prepares and analyzes samples, performs basic preventive maintenance on laboratory instrumentation, monitors analytical systems, and documents and communicates results. The position works under established standard operating procedures and analytical methods, with training and guidance provided until proficiency is demonstrated.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory analyses under the direction of senior team members until proficiency is demonstrated. Collect samples in accordance with established Sample Plans. Prepare samples and operate laboratory analytical equipment using approved procedures and methods. Perform basic preventive maintenance on analytical systems and laboratory instrumentation. Monitor analytical systems, evaluate the validity of routine analytical data, and take appropriate action when issues arise. Identify and escalate equipment, analytical, or process issues as appropriate. Document, communicate, and archive analytical results and data accurately and in a timely manner. Use laboratory data systems to acquire, record, and manage analytical data. Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHandS) requirements and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) procedures. Identify and suggest improvements to laboratory processes, tools, and work practices. Escalate non-routine requests and analytical concerns to the appropriate team member for resolution. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment. Required Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with relevant laboratory experience; or 3-5 years of relevant laboratory or analytical experience; or Relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6, Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class, or Sergeant level. Basic laboratory skills and ability to follow established procedures and analytical methods. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and communicate analytical results. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Previous shift-work experience. Experience with laboratory instrumentation, analytical systems, or data management systems. Experience working in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial laboratory environment.
