Description:
As a Lab Technician, you drive and coordinate team efforts for rework, assembly, or testing of multiple large prototype quantities, within the scope of a larger project, mostly independently. You plan and execute prioritized project work, selecting the appropriate method to most effectively achieve project objectives. You demonstrate comprehensive understanding and expertise needed to implement the best course for rework and debugging of assemblies and subassemblies, using schematics and engineering drawing tools.
Responsibilities include:
perform complex measurements and use test equipment for debugging on defined issues, with minimal guidance. Debug tests with design engineers to deliver functionally correct design blocks.
Evolve test methodologies, and develop new tools and workflows to improve product quality, testing efficiency, and validation processes across teams, based on comprehensive knowledge of technology trends and industry state of the art.
Drive effective testing and product improvement in accordance with software test plans and procedures by reviewing, implementing, and sharing information on critical tests.
Drive procedures to demonstrate product compliance and manage evaluation of test equipment required to verify product performance during qualification tests.
Drive audits of validation or performance qualification processes to ensure compliance with internal or regulatory requirements.
Conduct test plans and reviews with engineers and other stakeholders, within one or more teams, to gather feedback. Contribute to design reviews for testability by conducting experiments.
Identify and select test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, testers, microscope, chambers, analyzers, generators, optical debug tools) with minimal supervision.
Report bugs during verification and recommend corrective action, where needed, with external suppliers or internal development teams.
Ensure complete documentation of test or verification results and test methodologies are in compliance with internal or external requirements. Minimum role qualification requires proficiency in:
Test planning
Debugging skills
Hardware systems and subsystems implementation
Domain specific knowledge
Troubleshooting and failure analysis
Test design
Layout/PCB design
Data analysis and synthesis

Friday, Normal Business Hours Minimum role qualifications requirement:
5 years of experience in Laboratory Safety Protocols (Chemicals, Lasers, High Voltage, etc).
3 years of experience in Mechanical Metrology (CAD, Use of calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, Instron, etc) and Electrical Metrolgy (multimeter, O-scope, etc).
Top Responsibilities:
Performing thermal testing of products and mockups with thermocouple instrumentation and chamber testing.
Hands-on expertise with thermal validation of mobile consumer electronics including use of thermal chambers, DAQ systems, thermal imaging, digital multimeters, PICO hubs, and programmable power supplies.
Preferred qualifications:
Design, assembly, disassembly, building of thermal test vehicles, and building thermal prototypes for early thermal validation and UX studies.
Thermal and power characterization of battery packs, individual subsystems like display, audio etc
Validation of performance of thermal materials like thermal gels, graphite over foams, graphites, thermal interface material (TIM), heatpipe.
Validation of thermal control logic including thermal throttling and surface temperature definitions.
Familiarity with execution of test scripts, data collection and analysis software codes like Python, LabView, Benchlink and Unix/Android shell command line terminals.
