Yes Position Purpose This motivated, key contributor will work in an interdisciplinary environment to plan and perform experiments requiring knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics. The position requires the ability to set up and conduct experiments that may include, but are not limited to, assays and analyses, basic cell culture work and treatment response time courses, and recombinant DNA technology. This member of the lab will also be expected to assist with basic lab maintenance activities such as researching and restocking supplies, assisting with cell culture stock maintenance, maintaining orderly records of lab inventory, etc. Proficiency with computer software and computer use is necessary. - Accomplishes necessary preparation of equipment and instrumentation for experiments.
- Adheres to established quality control policies and procedures to guarantee the reliability of data.
- Observes experiments while in progress, records observations, and trouble shoots as necessary.
- Reconciles results that are disparate from anticipated findings, re-runs techniques as necessary.
- Notifies principal investigator of problems associated with experiments, measurements, or analyses and suggests changes to methods, procedures, or techniques as appropriate.
- Maintains laboratory notebook, recording tasks performed.

- Collects and analyzes data resulting from experiments and presents findings to Principal Investigator.
- Prepares appropriate and understandable representations of data such as graphs, charts, tables, statistical summaries, etc.
- Contributes to the preparation of scientific manuscripts by preparing graphs, tables, and charts.
- Conducts literature searches to develop insights into the significance of experimental results and to acquire information on new or improved methods, procedures and techniques. Percentage Of Time 20 Description Laboratory
- Maintains day-to-day care and housekeeping of laboratory.
- E.g., washing dishes, restocking, keeping inventory, organizing freezers/fridges, cleaning spaces, maintaining cell culture room, autoclave waste, etc.
- Checks, calibrates and maintains equipment in working order, performing preventative maintenance at prescribed intervals.
- Maintains records associated with laboratory activities, both digital and print.
- Instructs others in laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques and provides technical guidance and direction as required.
